One of the ongoing debates here is about anchors - you've been around for awhile so I was just joshing. Nothing deep about it, I'm afraid.

Yes the Facebook page is correct - the other thread is hard to follow but you could be right since he lives in BC.

Re: Finally Sailing

Thanks everyone. It sure does feel good to truly love your boat.

I never felt that with my Searay.

Then you don't work on it if you feel that way.

I look forward to keeping this boat in top condition.

Russ

Re: Finally Sailing

Congrats. Looks like a sweet boat, good for you moving over to the light side. If you don't have any knowledgeable sailing friends, I'd suggest connecting up with some friendly locals including a rigger to explain how to optimize... freely acknowledge your noob status and you'll find people willing to help. Your local Coast Guard auxiliary can be helpful too.

Yes never worry I am not going to come across as unteachable.

I had a pro instructor with me for the 8 hour delivery. I plan to have him come out with me at least twice more in March.

I was also thinking just today to have a rigger come out to survey the rig while also instructing me.

Thanks guys !

Russ

You sound pretty interested to learn. There is quite a lot of information online about tuning rigs. If you read up on rigs similar to yours before the rigger comes, you'll have a context for understanding what he tells you.
