Re: Finally bought my first boat

Congratulations, Sirzones!

"The C&C 30 probably did more than any other boat to establish the 30 foot size range in the minds of many Canadian sailors. Like the C&C 27, it also has to be considered a classic among the production fiberglass boats built in the country. In fact, its appearance and layout is very similar to the C&C 27, just more of everything, including some extra elbow room down below. This is a well built boat with good performance, and it did much to elevate C&C to the status of one of North America's premier sailboat manufacturers during the 1970s and 1980s ..."

Great little boats. I personally have owned three C&C designed boats and used to build C&C designed boats.

Re: Finally bought my first boat

Congratulations on your "new" purchase..Excellent boat...sail the heck out of her and enjoy the repairs, may they all be DIY'ers and not detract from any available day of sailing.
Plus, with you on the east cst, will assume new england, repairs are why god(s) made boat yards and cold winters!

Re: Finally bought my first boat

Congratulations! When I bought my first boat I thought I would be bored sailing, entertaining, fending off the ladies, etc. Then I discovered exciting things such as replacing wires, routing maintenance, etc. Worse, I discovered I actually enjoyed, to an extent, those exciting things like maintenance! I then discovered another activity I enjoyed on the boat, which was going to the boat and then doing nothing, just sitting there contemplating life while enjoying a fine adult beverage and commiserating with my fellow dock mates.

Congratulations and may you have as much fun with it as we have with ours! Fair winds.

Re: Finally bought my first boat

Nice boat for all around fun including regadas. I was looking for one when I ended up buying my first boat. Not enough of them to be found in my area.
Take her out and win some races.
cheers,
Jim

Re: Finally bought my first boat

Congratulations mate ! Well done. Being in Aus. not familiar with your choice but it’s a good size to start with. My first boat was 28 feet, an H28, in fact the first of that design launched in the world , built in Melbourne’”Marloo” and have copies of letters from LF Herreschoff to authenticate that. She gave me and many friends a great deal of pleasure and took me safely up the east coast of Australia and back.
