Fiberglass hull but vintage inspired boat suggestions
Hello!
I own a business which for various reasons would benefit from having a sailboat to host clients.
I'm a sailor, but have mostly sailed on plastic.
We're looking for something like a Cheoy Lee Lion class.
Fiberglass hull with lots of wood and brightwork.
We've got a wood worker on staff who owns an old wooden hull, and will be tasks with maintenance... So I know it's a lot of work
Can anyone suggest me some 20-40k boat ideas?
I'm not looking for a heavy cruiser like a Hans Christian.. more like a gentlemen's racer - and a fiberglass or cold moulded hull is important.
Thanks!

Yacht World search in your area should bring up a good selection.
In the PNW a quick search brought up @ 45 boats of which @ 20 or so should have enough brightwork to keep you busy for a while!

Re: Fiberglass hull but vintage inspired boat suggestions
Where are you? Boats that are near you will be what you end up with, and they vary by location.
How many people do you need on board at a time? We use our boat for directors' meetings of an organisation I'm with, and getting more than 6 seated becomes a problem. The Ohlson's cockpit may be a touch small for entertaining clients if you expect them, sales or support staff, and you too.
Is the Kettenberg's hull fiberglass or wood?

Sailmonkey, those are nice boats, but he specifically says a fiberglass hull that evokes a timber design is what he wants.

These Morris boat M42 are just gorgeous and beautiful.
For a classic gentleman's look.
(PS- does anyone know what guitar piece is played in it?)

Lots of beautiful teak inside and some outside as well. Kindly sea motion, easy on the non sailing guests. Solid build. If well maintained, best boat for the short money.

Thanks folks!
Jim, you're right... Fiberglass is what I'm after.
I'll keep up the search.

Re: Fiberglass hull but vintage inspired boat suggestions
Need to know where you are located to give some better recommendations.
In my marina there is a spender s42 center cockpit hull #1 with lots of teak sails great and faster than it should for its design.

Re: Fiberglass hull but vintage inspired boat suggestions
I THINK the S&S 40 was built with a fiberglass hull at one time... not sure...
