Experts needed in Bobstay Chainplates

The Fuji was designed with a very low Bobstay Chainplate. Actually, I believe mine to be 2 inches lower than some. Mine is the one without trailboards. As you can see from the picture, it's in the water.

My questions are

1. If I moved the chainplate 6 inches Higher, would that create too hard of an angle?

or

2. I could use the same location and have PT fabricate a Bronze Chainplate
