Re: Exp. w/ Chesapeake Sailmakers or Bacon Sails??

Chuck O'Malley (Chesapeake Sailmakers) has done a new 150 genoa and a storm sail for my Catalina 27.... He has repaired and cleaned my main and added 2nd reef cringles.... very knowledgeable and conscientious.... he came on my boat to take measurements and came back to fit the sails on the boat....

Re: Exp. w/ Chesapeake Sailmakers or Bacon Sails??

I have been dealing with Bacon Sails for 55+ years. Used, if the say fair, there good. If they say good, there excellent. Excellent like new. Never ever been disappointed. Good prices great service. Capt. Vince Rakstis, RetMS

PS: Every one that I have recommended them too, that I have heard back from, has thanked me for the referrals. Good folks to deal with...

Re: Exp. w/ Chesapeake Sailmakers or Bacon Sails??

I love Bacon and Bacon Sails. 'Never had a problem with either over the past 4 years living in Annapolis - they have a great stick in the back as well as expertise and no-pressure sales team. Sometimes I just go there to kick tires.

Re: Exp. w/ Chesapeake Sailmakers or Bacon Sails??

Chuck O'Malley (Chesapeake Sailmakers) did our main and head sail, we cruise full time and it was important to us that he understands are needs and listened to us.

Do yourself a favor and regardless of who you use stay on top of them, they are all crazy busy.

"Quantum loft offshore". I think that means Asia. No problem, that's what I use.

We just had our new main installed by Jerry and his crew. Great product, great price and unbelievable quality of service.
I would not hesitate to use them again.
