European alternative to Pacific Secraft Dana 24?
Hi Sailors,
looking for a small cruiser, 20-26 FT with standing headroom, in US I would go for a Pacific Seacraft: Flika 20, Dana 24, or the Cape Dory 25D and so on.
Any recommendations for a EU build, and available small blue water cruiser, with standing headroom 6FT+ like a Flicka, Dana would be?
Usually Hallberg-Rassy comes to mind, but their 26ft does not seem to have the headroom, and I'm looking for a small cruiser, would I go 30+FT I would have certainly more options, but for costs reasons, slip limitations, and single-handing capability I would prefer a small but sturdy cruiser. As well pls recommend boats that have a affordable price on used market, say up to 20k$. Looking forward to user experiences and owner recommendations

Europeans don't really do long keeled yachts these days, so you are going to have to choose older designs like the Contessa 32 (wet to windward) Halmatic 30 or 31 etc.
However, there are some exceptions like the Yarmouth 23 which did cross to Brazil and back:

If you give up the standing headroom then the Contessa 26, or any of the Nordic folkboat copies. If you want to go fast, one of these can cross oceans and popular with Europeans:

Had a Virgo Voyager 23 that had 6ft headroom that I lived aboard for 18mths.. come in fin or bilge keel versions.
Okay for coastal/cross Channel sailing but would think twice about offshore.
Basic living.. check out boats like the Great Dane, Bianca 27 and Francis 26.. there is another 27, the Vertue.

can be a old one from the 70's I dont mind, actually I would even prefer the old style
I dont want to sacrifice standing headroom, not a youngster anymore Its curious that its so hard to find a alternative while US has its Flickas, Dana's, Cape Dories, etc.

The market is dominated by the French and Germans. In France, sailing isn't a hobby, its a religion, note how all the French live on the outside of the country near the water. Only ex-pat Brits live in the middle.
More to the point, not only is it a religion, but they don't sail slow boats, so don't make any, as there isn't a market for them. That leaves deep fin keels to rule the roost.
A new Contessa 32 has just turned up in the marina. About £238,000 to buy. An old one in reasonable condition, £20.000

A Vindo 32 would be an interesting yacht. Long Keel but actual length is 28ft and standing room inside. Lovely woodwork.
Sailing Magic Carpet are selling their's in Northern Europe. Contact them through YT.

So I found the only true alternative I know off 25ft standing headroom, build like a tank Storfidra
https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/storfidra-25
just the production was quite small and they are rarely on sale, but it is to me a alternative to the Dana 24 or Cape Dory 25D.

The Vindo is a nice boat, a great boat it seems, not sure why its called a 32 if its a 28 , but not just its a bit longer than I asked for, the nice woodwork, is the reason I would not go for one, even with the skills of the mentioned youtuber, who is a professional boat builder, the hassle with mold and rotting on the wood would be too much for me.

There is also this one:
https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/spaekhugger
Extremely popular in Denmark half a century ago. Good numbers. I see them advertised these days for as little as the equivalent of US$5K, but as always, the lowest price may not be the best deal.
