Ericson 38 - Thoughts ?

JUST LOOKING FOR SOME OPINIONS ON AN ERICSON 38. TO ME IT SEEMS GREAT AND WANT TO CRUISE SO ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOAT WOULD BE GREAT.

Never sailed one. But researched last year when I was looking. Overall a roomly boat for it's size. But does has a rep for being a little tender and bouncely for it's size due to it's displacement for it's size. Probably a reasonable buy.

Anyone ever done any cruising on one? Lond distance stuff??

The Ericson 38 is what would be considered today a performance cruiser, along the lines of the J cruising boats. It has a very well designed hull with decent SA/Disp ratio. I would consider one for near coastal cruising, ie the Bahamas. For longer passages I would look for something more stout. Some have had delamination of the bulkhead tabbing.
