Encapsulated Keel Manufacturer

Hi All,
Which manufacturers currently build encapsulated, non-bolt on, keels?
Thank you,
JIM

I am only certain about Kraken. Expect that Amel, HR, and Oyster are encapsulated.

Re: Encapsulated Keel Manufacturer

Most (not all) aluminium and steel yachts have no keel bolts and an encapsulated keel.

Of the fibreglass boats there are plenty of second hand boats with encapsulated keels, but it has become too expensive to manufacture this way so only a few manufacturers are still doing this.

Here are a few fibreglass manufacturers that are producing new boats with encapsulated keels. This list is from the top of my head, so I am sure there are many more:

Russler
Kraken
Outbound
Nauticat
Island packet

Re: Encapsulated Keel Manufacturer

Tayana still make the 37 in long keel by order.
I remember I ask 6 or 8 years ago it is still under 200k back then.
Order takes 6 months.

I don't believe that Amel, HR, or Oyster are encapsulated

New models. True. Older models like the HR49 are encapsulated.

Re: Encapsulated Keel Manufacturer

Cape Dory built their boats with encapsulated keels. What are these “keel bolts” of which you speak?

Our Morgan Out Island 41 ketch is old (1972) but has a full encapsulated keel with 9000lbs of lead.

Re: Encapsulated Keel Manufacturer

Cal, Ericson, and Gulfstar all have encapsulated fin keels. Beyond that, anything you see with a "long keel with attached rudder" or full keel will be encapsulated.
