Eastcoast 31 vs Defiance 30

Hi guys,

I need some pros and cons from the fleet

I am moving up from my Cole 23 to my first cruiser. On account of the type of sailing I want to do off the coast of Darwin, I have short listed 2 boats. Eastcoast 31 and the Defiance 30, I am a little torn between the two.

Anybody have any recommendations one way or another in regards to these two gems. At the moment, even though most of the Defiance's on the market are quite old, I am sort of leaning towards that boat.

I am most interested in SOG and heavy weather performance in regards to these two.

Just updating this thread...anyone have any experience with Eastcoast 31 - especially in heavy weather?
