Dry docking sailboats

I am looking for a low cost place to dry dock a 31ft sailboat over the winter. Any place in the Gulf to the east coast of Florida. Any one know of a good place. Thanks Mike

Indiantown and Green Cove Springs are two that come to mind. Basically get as far as possible from SE FL and any large town or any fancy area. So away from Miami or Tampa or West Palm Beach, etc.

If your draft allows maybe one of the rivers on the Gulf side.

In general, west of FL should be less expensive. And probably east of TX likewise. There are dozens of places in AL, MS and LA.

Is this for storage only, or do you want to do work or have work done?

Two places in Mobile, AL are Turner Marine and Dog River Marina, both on the Dog River (next door) just south of Mobile. Turner is probably slightly cheaper. It takes a day to get up the bay, but they are both much cheaper than places on/closer to the Gulf (such as Gulf Shores, AL or Pensacola, FL and between).

Thanks Lee I will look them up. Looking for A place to make ready a used sailboat that I Intend to buy. I do not live near the coast so I will comute to the location when I want to launch.

I first got into boating with friends from N Palm Beach. It's been several years since I stopped there but the last time that area looked really run down. The old Northlake Mall was closed and the whole area looked like a crack market. Guess all the money moved east to the beaches and Singer Island or south to Boca.

You are correct on your observations of NPB. I remember when I95 was 2 lanes on both sides now I think It's five. Just to many people for the area. I consider IT now to be just another large city. I stayed on my boat at the old palm harbor marina which was the WPB marina for 3 yrs around 1980 . Now yearning to go back to sailing. I called some of the marinas that were recommended and was amazed that all were cheaper for wet slips then dry dock on the hard ground. I thought slips would be of more value but I guess land is harder to find. Will keep exploring
