Dorade ID

Hello everyone,

I have been following this forum for a few months, but this is my first post, and I'm sure there will be plenty more to follow. I recently purchased an 81 Alpa 42 Ketch and trying to get a few issues resolved. She has a couple of dorade deck openings and two nice stainless cowls, but no vent boxes to be found. I would like to purchase a couple of boxes, but I have no idea of the make. Please refer to the attached pic of the base plate and let me know if you recognize the make/model. It is some 14" long and 11" at the widest point and tapers down to about 7". Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Since you have the cowls, the expensive component, I would hazard a guess that the boxes were constructed of wood and disintegrated over time. A competent woodworker should be able to fabricate a replacement to fit the existing footprint. I presume you have the deck plate for the cowl.
