I've been working through the same issue. We're moving into full-time
liveaboard on a
Catalina 42. I don't have room for the computer setup I've been used to (27" iMac w/ 27" external
monitor, a color printer, a b&w printer and all the other
gear.
This may not work for your husband, but I've been working toward using an
iPad Pro for work. It will do the Zoom conferences and it has the
research and productivity tools I need. There are a couple of drawbacks, but I think they are compromises I can live with.
So I set up shop on the nav desk with my
iPad on a Twelve South HoverBar Duo for iPad, connect a Bluetooth keyboard, and I'm ready to roll. I devote the
storage by the nav desk to my essential paperwork.
Works for me.
Don't know if that'll work for his needs, but it may be something to investigate if he hasn't already.
Would this work for your husband?
