Davits w/out aft boarding ladder?

I have been pondering this for a few months now and was wondering if anyone else has solved this problem. I want to install davits for my tender, however the stern of my boat doesn't lend itself to aft boarding ladder. If I don't have an aft boarding ladder, how does one attach and detach the tender from the davits????

Well, at 4:1 on the blocks, it is going to take huge amounts of line to walk it around...maybe that is what is necessary...hope not.

I was wondering if somebody had a niffty solution that I've never seen.

What about one of those mooring hooks that fit on the end of a boat hook? A quick google search came up with this one: though there are several more out there like it.

I've never done it but I would think you could walk the dingy back then have one of these hooks on each of your davit lines.

A simple method is to tie the dinghy rings to the blocks via a long lanyard which has an eye splice in one end of it. A tucked sheet bend secures a loop from the eye splice through the dinghy loop ond the block. When the dinghy is lowered in to the water, you give the lanyard a tug and the sheet bend opens allowing the block to dinghy ring tether to come adrift. One then pulls the boat around to the boarding platform or wherever by a painter which is tied off to the taffrail before the vessel is hoisted.

One can also buy hinged shackles with a pull-release mechanism--but I hate spending beer money--
