Croatia Buying?

Has anyone on here any experience buying in croatia? uk eu citizen though id imagine the process will be the same for most, slow ? anything special to watch for?

A friend of mine did it recently in pula no issues. You will have to pay Vat if you import it into the EU

Any idea of the time scale from start to finish? i have no interest of bringing it into eu waters, well not for a long time.

Hi,

I live in Singapore. I am NOT a EU citizen. I am thinking of buying a boat non-vat paid in Croatia. AND THEN bringing it to Italy for 17 months.

Is my understanding correct:

I must:
1) register it somewhere outside EU
2) I dont have to pay eu vat so long as its <18 months in eu
3) so long as the hulls insured and has the weird Italian liability insurance thing and I can prove I own it then;

Its good to go? Is that right?

Can you please advise?
