Creaking bulkhead

I keep my boat on a mooring in Bristol RI... anyone who’s been there knows the harbor can get crazy in a southerly wind. When the wind and waves really kick up and I’m getting bashed at the mooring, my bulkheads begin to creak pretty loudly. Is this a sign of some issue... maybe the tabbing broke?? Thanks all!

What type of boat?

Some are made with floating bulkheads, others like ours have bulkheads tabbed to the hull but not the deck.

Boats twist all the time some movement is normal

Are you sure it's the bulkhead and not the deck-stepped mast doing a bit of rocking and turning the bulkhead or cabin top into a sounding board? Listen carefully to determine exactly where the sound is coming from.
