Hi,
This is my first post and I'm writing because I'm thinking about possibly
buying a 1990 Contest 43 for
blue water cruising. From what I have read online, the make sounds fairly solid and robust and although it has the huge aft
cabin (to keep SWMBO happy), it also has decent sea berths in the
saloon. But my main areas of concern are the sandwich
hull construction (does this become a potential issue in older
boats - i.e. 1990 era) and also the wing
keel - which although not a problem in itself, could be a problem waiting to happen with lobster pots,
fishing nets,
coral heads and even our own
anchor rode!
Any thoughts, positive or negative welcome.
Many thanks
Jonny.
