Contest 31 on CL...

Hey all, just wanted to post this up b/c it looks like a great deal, wish I had the money I'd buy it up myself. If anyone in the Chicago area is looking for a boat, might want to take a look at this one. Looks like it was lowered to 8900 from 11k. Owner needs to get rid of it b/c they bought a bigger boat...(must be a nice situation to have!).

*I have absolutely no connection w/ the seller. I don't even live in the area yet (moving to the Rockford area end of the summer, thats why I'm looking at boats there lol).

Heres the link: 31 Foot SAILBOAT (Contest 31) In the Chicago Harbor - Ready to Sail

Contest sailboats have some of the nicest interior woodwork. They are solidly built. I looked at a 31 years ago and could feel no movement of the foredeck when I jumped up and down.

Re: Contest 31 on CL...

not at all familiar with that boat but it don't seem that great of a deal to me price sounds about right or a little high, if its well maintained witch it prob is being on a lake. Its a swing keel so that part I don't like. the article sounds used car sales like ,so I didn't even read it. but if you like it go see it Rockford is not that far away.

ok bulb keel my bad still don't like the that type of keel but I am a full keel guy so I am bias

I thought it looked cheap. Not sure about the electric drive though, could work perhaps.
