Boat: Seafarer, Swfitsure, 30 - Irish Rover

Chris Craft Apache 37

I have seen a few mentions of this boat on this board, but not much out on the net in general.

There is one for sale in a local boatyard, and she quickly caught my eye while driving by. Classic lines, but modern looking fin w/bulb keel for a boat from 1969.

I currently have a Seafarer 30, which I do love just messing around here in LI sound but she doesnt give me much confidence when it starts getting a little nasty out. I'm also planning on going somewhere. Not sure where yet; Im a senior at college, but somewhere.

Im curious about the older design; long overhangs, small beam for a 37 foot boat. I know a long bow can be good carving, instead of slamming into waves, but what else? Im looking for something a bit faster and less tender than the Seafarer, am I looking in the right direction?
Thanks all,
-Sean C
