They also do refits and allow owners to rent yard space and work on their boats there. I am considering a boat to cruise extensively on and was taken with this handmade custom beauty. There is an older 44 for sale for $260k at the yard. Does anyone have any experience with or sailed on these boats. I am impressed with the looks and craftsmanship of the yacht. I didn't know there were any custom builders still working in the mid atlantic states.

Welcome aboard CF, Melissa. Beautiful boats. Any way to get that schooner in Ferenc's book as desktop wallpaper?

Re: Cherubini Yachts

Does anyone know why the 48 is a schooner instead of a ketch?

Re: Cherubini Yachts

Why would a ketch be less sexy or less suited to island sailing?

Re: Cherubini Yachts

What's unromatic about a ketch? Seriously, why did John Cherubini decide that the 48 should be a schooner?

Without a doubt the 44 and 48 are the most beautiful sailing boats built today or in the past since Ticonderoga / Tioga slid down the Bristol ways in 1936. They are unique in every way. If I could pick one perfect boat to own regardless of price it would be the 48, hands down...well the 44 is just as nice...hell I'd have to take both!

Re: Cherubini Yachts

To my eye, they appear superficially similar to the old Luders 48 schooner/ketch built by Cheoy Lee. I suppose if someone wanted a working class version...
