Cheoy Lee Boat Looking for New Home - Sydney

I have a cruiser of my own and by some bizarre turn of events I've come into the possession of a teak 1953 Cheoy lee cruiser perhaps just shy of 30ft. She's. Beauty! Shes on land now and need her mast put back where it belongs and she needs to be re painted however she had been all over the globe and will soon be back in the water. I think i will spruce her up a bit and then sell her and put the winnings into my own boat. I was wanting some advice on these type boat and wondering what she may be worth, and of course if anyone is interested in her. Thanks, niki

Not any great shots at the moment but soon I will take and post them. She probably looks a bit rough in these yet she was been repainted at the time of the owners death which explains the lack of floor boards etc.

The Cheoy Lee owners, and the Rhodes Reliant site, run by Ben Stavis, are a wealth of info and leads.

That doghouse, and transom hung rudder are strong clues. The reverence in which these boats are held, is almost religious.

Looks like the one. The only difference being that it was built in hong kong not england like alot of them. Do we have any idea what it's worth then? Put back together with a fresh coat yet few electricals besides lighting.

I thought that you said it was nearly 30 feet in length... the V is only about 25.

I really wouldn't know without seeing her but in OZ I can't imagine they would be very easy to move.

It seems Aussies prefer the plastic, also at 25 - 30 ft she is smaller than most Aussies are after.

Well I don't know about the plastic trend. Mine is timber and there are lots of boaties here will all types of boats, i imagine it will cost a bit to move it but it should pay off.
