There are boats and there are sailors. Boats can only sail as fast as the sailor can sail them.

As an example, we were in a 75-mile offshore PHRF Pursuit race in a Pearson 365 Ketch (non-spin) a couple of years ago (12 boats total). We were second over the line - even in front of the larger spin class boats.

You can make any brand of boat go fast or slow. But you can't blame the brand if you're slow.
