Carter 42 History?

I am looking at a Carter 42 here in Australia and there does not seem to be much information online? I am wondering what they sail like and if they are good sea boats?

Well regarded race boat in the old days

I see a few around being used as cruisers

Some of the Italian built ones are beautiful
