Re: Cal Sailboat owners _ UNITE!

We owned a 1979 Cal 2-27 for fourteen years. We sailed and raced her in South Florida and took her to the Bahamas, Regatta Time in Abaco, the Berry's, and Bimini. We sold Magic in 2016. She was a lot of fun, and we still reminisce when looking at photos.

Re: Cal Sailboat owners _ UNITE!

I'm new to sailing but couldn't pass up a 1976 Cal 2-27 that came with it's own slip here in Maryland. She's solid but I have a lot of learning to do before I take her off the hard. Glad to have found this thread and this site as a whole.

Sailing Havah, welcome to CF. You will find that starting a new thread with any queries you may have is more likely to get useful responses than posting to long dead older threads.

I see that you have added some info to your profile, and that's good. The more we know about you the better we can help when asked.

And I suspect that you will be glad to learn that way back in the '80s some friends of ours circumnavigated in a Cal 2-27 called Twigga. Only electronic device on board was a flasher type depth sounder... no radios, no radar, no satellite nav aids. It is a competent small boat!

Jim
