Hello, I am looking at buying a CAL 35 built in 1984. Is this in fact the same boat as the CAL 35 MK II and CAL 35 Mark II with the only difference being the interior layout depending on the year built? Apologies for being uniformed but have searched and searched about these boats but was not able to tell the difference.

I'm also looking into Cal 35's. The original was produced from around 1979-1981. Anything after this is a mark II. The original had the head just coming down the companionway. The mark II has the head just before the v-berth on the starboard side I think. At least two interiors were offered for the mark II. One had a pilot' berth aft and the other had a dedicated nav station and storage under the cockpit where the pilot's berth would be.

To quantify, yes any 1984 Cal 35 is a Mark II/MkII. They aren't labeled differently based on the interior.

Many thanks!! You have confirmed exactly what I wanted to know and yes, the one I am looking at has the head just aft of the v-berth with the added benefit of a separate standup shower - it also has the pilot berth as you mention.
