C&C Newport 41

Hi all,
I have pretty much decided to buy a 1976 Newport 41 MKII S in the very near future. Before I take the plunge, I would be very much interested if there are any sailors out there with first hand knowledge of these sailboats, especially from people who have owned them. I am planning on cruising the west coast of US, Mex, and So. America and possibly crossing to Hawaii, Kiribati and the So. Pacific and possibly as far as Phillipines. After marrying a sailor with a passion for the sea, my wife has made it clear she is never going sailing again, so I will most likely be sailing solo and living aboard as a bachelor. I am aware that every boat comes with compromises. I have been away form the sea for far too long. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Great boats. Good looking and quicker then you might think.

C&C’s breakthrough racing design “Redline 41", was sold to Lindsay Plastics for production, and became the Newport 41, which was later produced by Capital Yachts.
