I owned and sailed a
C&C 36 for a few years. Sailed from
Vancouver to
Mexico to
Hawaii and back to
Vancouver so I got a good sense of the boat. Its a fast 36 for its day (IOR) but not too extreme. Have the
rudder carefully checked as well as the
rudder bearings and
cables. Also check all the chain plates for leaks/corrosion as well as any damage to the mounting areas. It may still have the original rod
rigging. Have it surveyed well. For your use it should be fine. The
centerboard (ours was fixed keel) can be noisy at
anchor if its on the loose side. Talk about memories!!
