A year ago my wife and I placed a deposit on a new Southerly 42. Unfortunately, Discovery Yachts filed for insolvency/bankruptcy in January 2022. Our
boat had just started (the week prior) to be built. We
lost $$$, but we were not deterred. The
kids just
lost some inheritance.
This thread will include links to the process of
buying a boat in the UK and importing her into the US. I'd like to ask others not post replies here as I'll be adding posts with details as I have time to write them up.
The
boat we purchased is a Southerly 480 (Discovery 48S)
hull #004 built in 2018 and commissioned in 2019. This was previously @"Adrian Chen"'s boat. Adrian posted a build thread
