Bristol 31.1 thoughts?

I've been looking for a sailboat I can single hand on Long Island Sound and the New England Coastline. Used to own a Catalina 27 and have been thinking about a Cat 30 or something similarly sized but maybe better build quality.

I've come across a 1988 Bristol 31.1 which needs some TLC but overall looks like it is in sound structural and mechanical shape. Seems a bit more solid than the Catalina of similar vintage. Budget is requiring looking at things from the mid 80s.

My wife is a fair-weather only sailor and more sensitive to the boat motion. Thinking that the Bristol may offer a more comfortable ride.

Wondered if there are current/previous owners that can comment on the Bristol (or the Catalina).

Also wondering if anyone has the owners manual for the Bristol.

Thanks
