Bristol 27 vs Albin Vega 27

I wonder if the Vega 27 would out point the Bristol 27?

Bristol 27 has a 4' long keel with 19.75 LWL and the Vega 27 3.8' longish keel with 23' LWL

But the PHRF is slower on the Vega for some reason. (They are both slow to be sure but the Vega is 246 and B27 240)

With that LWL of the Vega, I would have expected it to be faster........

Surprising. The Vega is also more than 1500 pounds lighter, and has a better SA/displacement ratio (16.09 vs 14.28). Could it be that the PHRF NE ratings are based on bad data - the guy who raced it had no idea how to sail? Looks like the Vega could be a PHRF sleeper.

Could be. All those ratings are simply based on race results.
