You don't state where you are yet...

Here in Singapore with a high growth environment and ~26 DegC water I have used 3 different paints. Micron Extra has so far worked the best - I can't afford Micron 66.

Boat generally used weekly, I wipe the hull every month. At about 12-13 months I have to wipe the hull every 2 weeks and at 18 months I have to reapply.

There are two products I ever recommend. One is Pettit Trinidad SR. The other is Interlux Micron 66. There are no better performing examples of the hard and ablative types, IMHO.

I have been using Micron 66 for over 10 years in NJ and have consistently gotten several years between haul outs. Last haul out was April 2012 and still no growth.
