Re: Boats with Shallow Draft for Florida, Bahamas, Chesapeake
Pacific Seacraft Flicka 20
Asking Price (Oct 2016) = $10K - $30K+
You can find several Flickas listed for sale. Here is a list (updated every few months) on the "Flicka site" where you can learn more about this boat. The lowest priced one is just $10K.
http://flicka20.com/flickas-for-sale
Draft = 3' 3"
The Flicka is one of my favorite boats to see. It is "cute" and loved by their owners. Some have sailed across oceans. They can be trailered. They are known as surprisingly roomy for a 20 foot boat. They are considered a "blue water" boat and only 20 feet long. Full keel. Some have inboard Diesel engines, some have outboard motors. Some have porta-potty portable heads, some have a marine toilet. Some are "kit" or owner finished interiors, and some were factory finished.
Additional Specs, Equipment and Information:
Dimensions
LOA: 24 ft 0 in
Beam: 8 ft 0 in
LWL: 18 ft 0 in
Maximum Draft: 3 ft 3 in
Displacement: 6000 lbs

No I'm not 'bidding'. I just don't want everyone else to start. You have a hard time understanding that?

Seen you leaning away from centerboards but on a pearson 35 i'm told many owners don't even drop them down.. might wanna check on that. great boat.. good luck, all the best

Re: Boats with Shallow Draft for Florida, Bahamas, Chesapeake
Today I posted information in another CF thread about a Hinckley 38 custom sloop (1969).
While it does have a draft of only 5.9 feet, and fits the criteria for this thread about Shallow Draft boats (Less Than 6') it is close to the limit. There are about 100 photos of it online via a link below.
Why mention it here? Because this boat is noteworthy because of these reasons:
1. Premium Brand Name "Hinckley"
2. Low Cost Asking Price $25,000
3. ONE OWNER boat
4. Recently Rebuilt Engine
5. Recent Awlgrip paint on hull (dark blue)
The boat does need some TLC. See the #214 post in the following thread for more info and some photos and the link to the original sale listing.

Re: Boats with Shallow Draft for Florida, Bahamas, Chesapeake
Freedom 28 Cat Ketch
DRAFT = 2.5 feet minimum (Centerboard up)
The Freedom 28 Cat Ketch is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has an unstayed cat ketch rig, a transom-hung rudder and a swing-up centerboard. It displaces 7,000 lb (3,175 kg) and carries 3,800 lb (1,724 kg) of lead ballast.[1][2]
The spars are made from carbon fiber. The initial models were produced with wrap-around sleeve-type sails and wishbone booms, but these were later changed to more conventional sails and booms.[1]
The boat is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar 2GMF diesel engine of 15 hp (11 kW) and has a fuel tank with a capacity of 18 U.S. gallons (68 L; 15 imp gal). It also has a 30 U.S. gallons (110 L; 25 imp gal) water tank.[1]
The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 204 with a high of 186 and low of 240. It has a hull speed of 6.8 kn (12.59 km/h).[2]

Here is a link (Oct 2016) for one in Florida with asking price just $3,000.

Another on Yachtworld is asking $9,995.

Re: Boats with Shallow Draft for Florida, Bahamas, Chesapeake
What a coincidence. Thats exactly what I am in the process of doing. I bought a used PaceArrow motorhome and a MacGregor 25. I added a galley (a sink, water tank & a micro wave) Reduced the size of the couch and put in a closet and a set of drawers.Got a 4000 watt inverter, a flat screen & DVD player. I paid $1000.00 for it and it came with 3 sets of sails, a marine radio, all the safety equipment even a flare pistol, 2 deep cycle batteries with 2 chargers. I bought a 10 foot inflatable. It has a pop top that I can stand upright in and Im 6'2". It only has a 5 hp outboard but it starts first pull. Im leaving California for good and heading for the Gulf in less than a month. It has a swing down keel and draft in about 3 foot. My sailing experience is 8 years of racing Prindle 16 cats in lakes and tge Pacific #13 Jeff Prindles original cat. I know Im in a little over my head but hey thats life. Ill had pixcs as soon as I can figure out how to.
