The Lazy Jack Schooner was the life long choice of Don Launer, a frequent contributor to several boating publications. It was featured in a number of articles in Good Old Boat magazine. http://www.goodoldboat.com/reader_se...s/schooner.php

Re: Boats with Shallow Draft for Florida, Bahamas, Chesapeake
Here's another one of my favorite skinny water boats. If you think the Lazy Jack has a great interior this boat will blow your mind. Not as pretty as the Lazy Jack but a lot of boat for a 3' draft. You've just got to deal with the chainplates.

Here's another extreme shoal draft sailboat on Yachtworld. I'm not familiar with the design but looks interesting & it's sure priced right.

Re: Boats with Shallow Draft for Florida, Bahamas, Chesapeake
I'm a big fan of the IP 26 as well. If you don't want to pay for the seaward and can live in 26', IP did a solid job on thinking it through (and making it look pretty!).
I was most impressed with the Lazy Jack in that it looked like, without a ton of freeboard, there was good standing headroom throughout, though possibly at the expense of a deeper bilge (which I wouldn't really expect on a shallow draft boat anyways!). Also liked the short engine shaft and ample room around the diesel!
