You'll cry again if you don't buy her.

I know worst part is I helped the current buyer get it .before I sold mine.
Just don't remember the engine but that diesel kiki is also an injection pump for several engines.

That's an insane price. You could convert it to electric for 10-15k or find a used engine. I just dont see how you could go wrong unless it's literally rotting

Nope the boat was actually in great condition overall 4 years ago .
Newer diesel here would set me back about 4k . Do the work myself .
But to pull it off I may have to actually get a job

Looks like the seller will go lower too. I think I see another boat in your fleet! With your talent for getting great deals on engines and parts, I doubt you'll need a job! Have a slip for her?

Nice layout below. I had one of those diesel stoves on my fishing boat in Alaska. Loved it. Perfect for the PNW, except in July. Wondering why the boat is so cheap?

Bad engine and needs to sell due to out of state move but I suspect has something to do with marina as well. I'm thinking on a drive by Sunday

Not sure but that engine looks like an Isuzu to me and they did use Diesel KiKi high-pressure pumps before Zexel bought them out. If it's an Isuzu a rebuild would not be out of the question

40' Project boat in Fort Lauderdale. Owner is too old..

Not my boat, but I have helped the owner occasionally: Hired contractors, etc.
(The owner lives in Colorado, he has not sailed the boat in 5-6 years.)
Not sure what brand boat, but late 60s, maybe early 70s, fiberglass.
Perkins 4-108 diesel with oil and filter change last year.
Sails was inspected and cleaned last year, but I did not see them personally.
The interior needs help as there is, or was leaks around the port holes.
Floor boards may be suspect.
This is basically a project boat with good bones.
I am not getting a commission, just trying to help the owner (in his 90s) offload the boat to a young and hard working buyer.
No broker will take on the boat and a survey would be a waste of money.
Not sure of the price as I got the email today: Time to sell.
I will get more info shortly but in the meantime, here is an old picture.
(If interested, send me a PM)

I rebuilt the engine in my Hallberg Rassy which was a Westerbeke 46 (aka Mitsubishi) Although I have my own Machine Shop, I didn't have honing equipment or centers to polish journals and valve grinding. I was able to do everything else. With most but not all engines, if it's an Industrial based motor, inexpensive kits are available. I would guess outside labor and you assembling plus the kit, you would be out about $3500. Not bad for a $5-$6k boat.
