Not sure if Wellcraft made a sailboat, known more as a powerboat company.
Besides isaint looks kinda suspicious if you ask me.

Chrysler made this boat but then sold their company during their bankruptcy and restructuring in the 80s.

I'm very sketchy.

Hopefully find something on the gulf coast.
Look for a Pearson Triton or Alberg 30. Both are absolutely amazing boats with well established circumnavigation history. Both are also fast for their size. Most importantly, both were made in large quantities and are frequently up for grabs at a great price. Deck rot is always something to look for, but both boats have solid glass hulls.

Also, if you want something a bit heftier, look for a Rawson 30. The Rawsons built in the mid '60s sometimes had solid glass decks, which eliminates deck rot at the cost of a heavier boat.

Any of these three boats will bring you back up for air after a knockdown.

Here's a Pearson Triton

If you are in the market for a Triton or Alberg, I always like to put in a plug for my boat, Columbia 29. Similar dimensions and vintage... but a little faster (One of these days I'll get a Triton to race me.)

The boats you mentioned should suffice. Especially for your budget.

It's difficult to know who you are replying to unless you hit the quote button first.

Ah yes good spot! Apologies, it’s been blowing 30+ kts here for the last 48 hours and I’m desperately in need of some shut eye.

That newporter looks an excellent boat, especially for the price!

I simply cannot believe that anyone would willingly part with a Columbia.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

While we're on the subject of "good old boats" the magazine Good Old Boat is worth reading. (No connection except we've subscribed since the first edition).

They have a lot of articles of interest to the "classic plastic" owner.
Their classified ads are always of interest.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

I was looking for a used dinghy and my search turned up this Allied Seabreeze.

The listing is about a month old so forgive me if this has been posted before.
