Probably need to fly in to close the deal long before the ice breaks up

Make it LATE spring. June 20th still had snow on the banks coming into harbor.

St Anthony is considered as sub-Arctic.

Lewisporte is positively balmy by comparison.

1983 S2 36 Center Cockpit

ebay link

2 days left and its at 2K. Needs an engine and a real good scrub but she looks solid and has lots of gear. Someone had big plans for her - there's a liferaft... Under 5K she is well worth it just for spares or breakup value, or put in 25K and some sweat and you have a fine cruiser how you want it with new engine for 30K. Follow the link in the eBay ad to all the photos on the charity website.

Oh, c'mon. $11K wouldn't even buy a new set of cushions for that. eBay, huh.

It's for sale at $119k. IMO a steal if everything works.

I'm surprised such a large boat doesn't have a separate shower and has such a small galley. Lots of wasted space if used as a liveaboard.

No, it's not the auction number but the asking price as the boat is also listed for sale at the marina. The seller references that in the ebay description. He also mentions the right to withdraw from the auction, etc. I guess he was hoping for a higher bid then 119K. IMO not going to happen but someone may have a steal for around 100K or thereabouts. Assuming all is in decent working condition.

1992 Tartan 372 for $29900

Seems to good to be true. The ad mentioned that something is wrong with the boat. I have written to learn more but no reply yet.

Nice looking boat. A lot of gear. 1200 hrs on engine is low. Upholstery and canvas look OK.
I have a personal dislike of in-mast furling main sails. I've seen some of the older ones fail. Very expensive to remedy.
The exterior wood looks in poor shape.

RE: The Beuhler.

From the surface looks to be a nice boat. I could not find it on the Beuhler design page. I looked at a Beuhler design before, they struck me as having a relatively small interior for their LOD.

But something strikes me funny about the ad. He is willing to trade straight up for a Sundance’s which is about as different as you can get and still be a boat. I suspect the guy advertising the boat is not the original owner, he is a broker or something.

If I was closer I would love to see the boat and find out who built it and something of its history. The huge bowsprit requires some consideration as well. Why?

I called about this boat a few months ago. I would not necessarily say I am in the market currently for a boat but if something comes up that is to good to pass up I would pull the trigger. I am very new to sailing, consider my self relativity handy and would be open to finding something that is a slight project. The guy I talked to on the phone said the boat ran a ground and the keel had been damaged. I assume this is a boat to run away from fast?

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

I never understand why folks design/build/buy boats that can not sustain a substantial grounding without damage.
