Knew I'd seen it somewhere else and the Pearson is advertised in Connecticut too.

Here's a 1981 37' Irwin that's been dropped way below $30k.
It's in Tarpon Springs

Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Without any sort of keel how is This boat going to sail to wind? Or even on a reach without getting pushed way off course? Unless there is some something I’m missing seems like this would make useless a really nice looking boat.

Some boats ditch the thing when they get to Guatemala. According to the boatyard guys, some people drop it on the way down, "the GOM is littered with them".

If you check the links I posted on the Pearson 35 you'll see that there's still plenty of keel. The centerboard adds only a small percentage. I sailed a sharpie with a 15" board up draft for many years & it would sail to windward with the board up. Of course it would point higher with the board down but don't underestimate the amount of lift sails provide.

Hunter 34
Year 1986
Asking Price = $15,500
Location = Hingham, MA, USA
Steadman's Notes:
Many people visiting CF are looking for a good "starter boat" for learning how to sail something larger than a dinghy or for bay or coastal cruising. This boat is a typical, low priced, "cruiser" that has some desirable features. This particular design has a "private aft cabin" (it has a low overhead, as it is under the cockpit), and a nice layout for the galley (one of this boat's selling features).

If it isn't a scam, pretty amazing deal. Smells too good to be true.
Perhaps a sidetrack, maybe appropriate in this thread, in general, what would be quick ways to verify reality w/out running across country?

Yes, this is just another attempted Craigslist scam. Don't waste your time! People that attempt to steal from others need to be made to walk the plank.

Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
I’ll be honest, this is my favorite thread. Thanks to all for filtering out some of the crud out there. I really enjoy the different boats that are noted.
Here is an interesting steel yacht. 44 feet with some love already put into her.
