1982 C&C 34, $5,000 (cdn) in Kingston (Lake Ontario).

Some assembly required.

The 34 is one of C&C's best models. I'm a fan. Forward sheeting, tee shaped cockpit, quality finish below with a nice layout. Very good sailing characteristics. The only reason I don't buy it myself is the 7' draft...yes, it was designed to race. If it were the shoal draft, swing keel version, I would buy it myself.

This boat is local to me. If anyone here is interested, I'd be happy to take more pictures or go see the boat with you. I've owned 3 C&C sailboats, so I think I know a little bit about the brand.

From what I can see in the ad photos, this boat appears to be in good condition for its age. Notice the helm steering position (forward in the cockpit, with wheel mounted on bulkhead of cockpit). This may not appeal to some, but more to others who admire Scandinavian design (interior wood), and the HR brand. The cockpit has a nice hard dodger (glass windscreens) and hard top over the steering position and companion way (see photo below).

Call me old school, but I do like the traditional styled boats with graceful lines as shown in the Privateer models (there is more than one length).

The ad for this boat indicates some updated gear and says the engine has 500 hours on it since rebuild.

Be aware that while this is a "35" foot boat, the long bowsprit makes it really 41' LOA.

WOW...some really great finds posted here lately. I'm still a year from taking the plunge, but these ads leave me feeling hopeful that there will be something great when I'm ready to head south.

That Kenner Privateer in particular looks absolutely beautiful. A few minutes with google revealed great reviews of this model, especially for seaworthiness. Although its a 35 foot boat, its like a 30 footer below. Quite different than the borg ships built today. I only found 2 others for sale online, at 3 and 4 times the price. That boat is certainly the stuff of dreams. Capt Ron style, in a good way.

The Endeavor 32 (above) is also a very good price for a sail away boat with shallow draft and a go anywhere build. Even the Catalina 34 (above) has super shallow draft and is a lot of boat for the money.

There are often so many posts by people looking for decent boats, ready to go, and here are 3 prime candidates. And all located ready to start a cruise of the Caribbean. I suppose the fact that some of these boats are approaching 50 years old has something to do with the pricing.

So great to see real, available, ready to sail boats here. I'm sure I'm not the only dreamer out here. At some point though, we all need to get off the armchair and into the salt spray. Until then, back to youtube, and lets see what "Sailing Uma" and "La Vagabonde" are up too....

Notably, the engine is relatively recent (2009) and low hours Yanmar 54hp.
