Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

@sailpower these are both great old boats, but I'm biased. Have owned both.

Yes, I started out looking at 365's but ended up with a 424.

It was a great liveaboard while I had it. I used the shower because I was on a mooring.

My avatar is hull #1. I think mine was 75.

That is a good price and looks to be in good shape.
The T stands for traditional, designed by Ray Wall.

The Merlin is newer and was designed by Tony Castro.

Mainesail has a CS36T - deep keel though.

I disagree the shoal draft is most sought after - the deep keel version sails better as well.

Recent ebay auctions, possibly some good winter specials:

1981 Pearson 35, $12,000 or make an offer:
LOW RESERVE! 1981 35' Pearson Classic Sailboat Best Value Boat for Fall Sailing! | eBay

1997 Bruce Roberts STEEL 31 foot cutter, currently at $7,000:
Bruce Roberts Steel Cutter Sailboat | eBay

1984 Hunter 34, currently under $3,000:
HUNTER 34 FOOT SAILBOAT 1983 WITH DIESEL YANMAR DIESEL INBOARD | eBay

Personally, I think the Pearson 35 is a decent boat if you want to do the Bahamas and the Caribbean on a budget. The shallow draft is a real feature. Solid boat, but small below for a 35 compared to something more modern.

This one is well under $30k, but I'm not sure you could pay me to take it.

I don't think this is really what SteadyHand had in mind with this thread. Looks like there's more oil on the outside of the motor than the inside. Big project but I bet it was awesome when it was in good shape.

Just trying to help someone that obviously needs, connecting a seller and a buyer.
Update, I'm back in the US now but just before I left I ran into the owner, he stated " Engine overheated and burned up, sailing downwind got caught in a storm and ripped up the genny because the roller jammed up and he couldn't get it in fast enough. "

Just saw he dropped the price to $9999 for a quick sale. It's a Westsail 32 with lots of gear...good price for the right person!

I understand a grubby engine, but why didn't the owner clean the head before the pic was taken?

I agree with your opinion - I wouldn't take it either.
