The ad header says Mazatlan, but in his write up he says he's in Ensenada. I'm in Ensenada for another week also, so if anyone wants me to take a look, some pictures or get more info, let me know.

Ken said he just saw it in Mazatlan? The ad is a little ambiguous. It's a San Diego CL posting, so not sure why he would say Mazatlan when it's in Ensenada?

Well if he saw it in Mazatlan, that's where it is. As an aside, guys named Ken are honest, trustworthy and extremely handsome.

Boats in Mazatlan, he just sailed it here recently. I agree the ad needs updated. He has this thing posted all over the west coast right now.
Picture from this morning. Somewhere I read that the transaction would need to be completed in the US due to the registration and Mexican law???
Just trying to help someone that obviously needs, connecting a seller and a buyer.

The ad mentioned a lot of things broke during storms. And that the boat was on the hard for something like 23 days.
I wonder what exactly broke and why.
On a positive note, the boat listing indicates cruising equipment and the photos show the boat has a boom gallows (a side bit of humor, referring to my positive posts about the benefits of a boom gallows on a traditional styled boat).

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
I just got back from the Big Island, HI and if anyone is around there and is looking, there is a Pearson Vanguard for sale in Hilo. I happened to be leaving when I saw it so I don't know anything about it. It looked a little dirty like most there but had a nice dodger, rf headsail and vane. If I lived there I'd sure look at it! I'm pretty sure its under 30K. Look for it for it right in front of Suisan in the harbor.

You can always sail into international waters to complete the deal, kind of common on Canada/US sales.

Price has come down. Someone in Southern Cal is going to get a very sweet little boat for not much cash...

That's the "Ken" I was referring to, by the way.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
We bought a boat in Mexico years ago. It was USCG documented. We used a US broker and the broker held the money until I was on the boat and satisfied that the condition was acceptable. They were responsible for having the correct paperwork in hand and gave the seller the money. The only issue we encountered was an unpaid dockage bill that the dockmaster wanted before allowing the boat to leave. I contacted the broker and we (all) agreed that I would pay the bill and that amount would be deducted from the funds transferred to the seller. Painless deal but you need a broker you trust.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Hi everyone,
Just viewed this boat yesterday Jan 6/17 and I think its a fantastic deal. Only reason I didn't grab it is my height. Im a tall guy and don't think the boat was meant for someone close 6'3" with my boots on. Being hunched is a lot to live with for long periods of time. I suspect the standing room in the cabin is around 6'1" but there must be some specs somewhere on the net.
It had a new motor installed in 2007 and he has a recent survey where the surveyor states the boat should be good for many years to come.
Comparable prices for the same boat are way more from what I can find.
