Thanx Mr. Steadman..The quality on my 1977 Hallberg Rassy 35 was exceptional. Where they blew it was putting an aft cabin in that design. Very small and made the front portion of the boat fell like you were in a Catalina 30. That boat would have been perfect if they had designed it as an aft cockpit.

Ha ha...thanx This is the newest boat I have ever owned! I ended up getting her for substantially less than it had been reduced to. I hope I don't have to make that emergency call. I am going to get Boat US tow service before I move her.

Just one to add to the mix - my boat education was spending 5 years bringing a steel ketch back to life. When it came time to sell, the interest was pretty significant and a lot of it came down to the boat not looking like a steel boat... it had a smooth, rolled hull (goodness knows what the original cost was) and the deck fittings were bolted on post-paint, avoiding that DIY finish.

The boat was eventually sold to a couple who still keep in touch, and 11 years after starting the refit I see it’s just finished another Med crossing. Always worth keeping in mind the re-sale possibilities when discussing an initial purchase price.

Yeah, that's what I think too...

It's not the worst ever boat name I saw. That was: "I'LL NEVER BUY A BENETEAU AGAIN!" in large letters on both sides of the hull of a sailboat we saw at a marina on Vancouver Island.

We never did find out the story...

You could convert to a semi cutter rig (aka slutter rig),;this would of course require a slight name modification, at which point perhaps The Admiral might want to go for a complete rename....or just go....
