Nice looking boat I know you would probably need deep pockets to maintain something that size. But it is a dream

As it turned out it was a year or more before we looked at a second boat, then about 2 years and many boat views before we bought…that second boat.
The Elizabethan, we may have looked at a 36?, is very narrow and has a reputation for being wet. The starboard saloon settee was too short to sleep on so the PO cut a hole in a cabinet to fit his feet.
It was a very small boat for it’s length.

Instead, the broker under the permission of the sellers are allowing him to drive the boat to the docks, at which time I have 1 hour, while it is in the slings to sound the hull and rudder with a plastic hammer, inspect the thru-hulls and rudder bearings and then re-zinc it if needed. Just under $500 which includes a pressure wash.

Today was the day we hauled out for the "below the waterline" inspection.
The Haulout went of. A little difficult finding the best places to sling but the travelift driver knew his stuff. There were 2 zincs on the shaft and one end zincs on the prop end nut. The end nut zinc was replaced only. No evidence on collision on the hull and the prop shaft was straight, smooth and free of any corrosion. The prop was a 3 blade "sailors prop" That had been modified by someone thinking to square the ends made it back up easier. The drive system seemed balance since there was not any running vibration through different RPM's.
There were numerous osmotic blisters (approximately 100) on the hull and rudder. None larger than a pea. Not being my boat, I could not dig them out to see their depth. But likely only in the gelcoat of the 1st layer of mat fiberglass. I'm use to seeing this size on my Westsail 28 and they are not deep. The next haul-out will see them ground out an 1/8" and epoxy filled.
The cutlass on the prop shaft and rudder were in excellent condition. The only thing that got my attention when we returned to the slip was the stuffing box was leaking like a faucet half opened. Two channel locks an d a 1/4 turn on the nut alleviated that problem.
So I gave the Ok to move into the next phase of paperwork, having all parties sign and initial the bill of sale and a few minor details with getting personal property off the boat and things the sellers have at their home back on the boat, such as all the manuals.
