I guessing yes.
Unsure about work commitments at moment.
But decided to put in best effort to get this.
$1 with motor and ketch masts.
Most bulkheads done.
$14000 transport and cranes to local hard work shop.
Budgeting $16000 in materials to float with cabin and motor and rudder.
Then sit wet until affording junk rig instead of point and force luff rig.
Basic battery banks switching home built. Guessing boat electronics will be okay with 12 or 24 v DC system.
Should come in (minus labour) less than $60k USD.
Asked not to hold. Up for grabs until gone impression I have.
If winning. Name will be
Recycled Junk.

There are 2 interesting yachts for sale in/near Sydney, Australia......do not have photos.........but an internet search under the following names has details ....
Nicorette.........search ...Nicorette yacht......80 foot maxi hull....a Sydney Hobart winner......hull, mast stump, boom...also search....Gumtree.com.au...enter ad i.d.......1275582590........just
A$ 10,000.00...and
Innkeeper......search ....Innkeeper yacht.....66 foot maxi chaser......alum hull and lots of gear....has competed in a round the world race...no mast...but
I know of 2 masts available .........in Sydney......not certain of lengths......suit either yacht......one is new......
Both yachts are clearly strong, very fast, needing work, and cheap.
i have no financial interest in any of these items......can give some contact detail by PM..............

Huge shortage of nice 30-40ft yachts in the UK. No sure of the larger yachts, don't normally watch those. However, anything from £20k - £40k in reasonable condition is selling. What is left behind isn't great. This is probably down to two things. For a second summer, travel abroad is difficult and risky with countries going in and out permitted travel. Secondly VAT is now due on any yacht purchased in Europe and brought back to the UK. Previously there was a frequent movement of yachts back and forth to Europe, now all changed.
Brokers crying out for boats to sell or they will be left penniless.

Oh, jeez! Let's start a GoFundMe page for the poor dears!
Around here there's a brisk market in those exact 30-40 foot boats, but it seems that British prices are about double in real terms.
Almost all are private sales.
Around here, brokers are very reluctant to list "problem" boats; old or with major work required. What they want are decent boats with no issues, so we're looking a $50K Cdn ($40K US) and up, preferably up a lot. Commission is about 10%.
There was a recent thread about insurance companies sometimes not wanting to insure >40 year old boats.
Boatyards end up owning the dregs, which they'll sell for very little just to get the spot back for a paying customer.
The trick is to find something that isn't yet ruined by time and rain...

I remember Nicorette! The entry of that in some big race caused several tobacco companies to have an attack of the vapours!

Er...no. But it would make a nice 3 season cottage or cruising live aboard for migrating north-south up the Eastern US/Canada and to the Caribbean.
I mean, all sound boats are tools for a particular job, right?

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
A few years back, Cruising World had a list of "People's Choice of Best Cruising Sailboats" which I printed out. One of the boats included was the Gulfstar 50.

Here is one on our very own forum. These are really great boats and for a great price.

cascade 42 high side.
I’ve seen this for sale for awhile.
Had my boat in Astoria today, so I looked at it. Much nicer then I expected.
