Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Westsail 32 - $10,000 (Anachortes WA)
Not a bad looking boat from the outside, but it's funny that when an ad says that the interior needs work, they seldom show pictures of it. Perhaps it's not in terrible shape. Who knows?🤷

Two years from now ,if I see a deal like that I'll be jumping on a plane to Florida
I found that the same boat was originally up for sale at 28,000 ,it was reduced at that
It's even got a heater to keep me warm in those cold Caribbean climates

The only thing that gives me pause is the small bit about a few soft spots on the deck....definitely need to check that of course.

Hard to argue with that price, or even asking price. But what do you guys think about buying a boat on the hard, "as is where is." Hard for me to imagine not being able to do a sea trial, even with an accepted offer and deposit.

For myself, I would actually prefer to see (and work on, if needed) the boat out of the water. As far as sea trial, having sailed a few different boats, I already have a fair idea of how she will perform looking at her design and weight. But that is just me. Given that she is being sold as is by this non-profit, I think you'd have to live without the sea trial and go by what other owners say about the performance you can expect.

50’ Center Cockpit Ketch Reduced - $30,000 (Ala Wai Harbor HI)
Another case of being 1¢ over being under $30K, but seems pretty nice.
Unfortunately, it is ferrocement if that makes a difference to you. It does to me.
