1983 Lancer Pilothouse Motorsailer $15,000
Lots of people have probably already seen this one since it's posted in another thread on the CruisersForum, but figured I'd post it anyways for those of you that might not be following that thread and may have missed it.

How long is a piece of string? lol
Most marinas will tell you the haul out-in cost if you contact them.
Probably around $150-500 each way. If the boat has to be blocked, perhaps more. If the boat has a trailer or cradle, it might be less. Some special boats, very large, very heavy, cat, or wooden boats, perhaps a lot more.
Some places charge for time in slings too. And demasting, if you want to look at that may be $100 and up.
Survey: depends on the type of survey. If someone has to spend 3 hours with you and give a written survey, then it could get expensive. I'd say $700 minimum.
Good surveyors are busy.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Fellow in the slip next to mine just told me was thinking of donating his
SOUTHER CROSS 35 hull #8
Figures he would get less than $10k.
Boat has done 2 circumnavs with PO. Has monitor wind vane. Mast steps. Does not seem to be in terrible shape. Bright work needs lots of attention. I am pretty sure it has the original engine.
An older chap. He still takes the boat out occasionally so the sails work. Engine works. Sitting in fresh water.
Eastern North Carolina.
It is a couple of days to a lift facility so surveys are a PITA. Sounds like he just wants the easiest way to be rid of it. Doesn’t want the hassle. That is why he is thinking of donating.
If someone were looking for this kind of boat it might be a chance to scoop one up

I would go for that.
The big question is why he thinks it would go for less than $10K.
I'd seriously make a long trip to see this one if he just wants it off his hands and it's in good condition.

Snort,
If you or anyone else is serious send me a PM.
Then I can talk to the guy and see if he is truly interested or just “talking.”
It does seem like a decent boat.

The link still works for me, but there's a note on it saying that the boat has now been sold.
With the way that Facebook is set up, it's difficult to link to a page. Sorry if the link doesn't work for you.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Update on this little Corsair..
https://maine.craigslist.org/boa/d/h...316459667.html
Turns out the boat is "Right across the street" from Safe Harbor Great Island Marina in Harpswell Me. After talking to the marina, they say they don't know the boat, but if it is located within a mile they could have it in the water for around $350.
They seller is not that accommodating, but the boat could be floating pretty easy. Hate to see these old gems turn to dust. Someone save this little gal!
