Looks interesting because of the price. It's more work than I'm in the mood for at the moment otherwise I would take a look.

That is my dream boat. It's set up and laid out the way I want it. If it were closer, I'd make an offer. I can't afford to buy and then pay to move a boat 600 miles to home.

Man... I'm seriously tempted. These are great boats. There is just so much work. I would at least go see it if I knew stringers, deck, hull, etc were good and take it from there. But, to go down there and find out the bones are weak... I don't know.

Here's a fun one -a rare bird. A Norman Cross 34 Trimaran for $10k Canadian, which is only about $7400 US. It's in Ontario though. It looks like a fun project boat, and I was tempted, but finding a berth for that big a trimaran in Ontario would be a challenge.

Yeah, most people keep multihulls of this size at moorings. Not a bad price, decent sized engine and the interior would look much better if it was varnished and painted.

I have a friend who bought one of these for $30K Canadian in slightly better-looking condition and it has been a disaster. Water in the core under the teak decks, in the cabin roof and under the caprails, leaks everywhere, tanks leaking or abandoned, unsafe electrical and propane. And that's before addressing the ancient rigging, sails, steering and engine. She'll never go sailing imo.

Unless you're younger than 50, you'll be fixing this a long time.

Hi guys, I have been reading this thread and found only (or most of it) sticks to north america. I was wondering are there any advices on getting boats in Europe under the same budget?

A few of us tend to scan the Canadian used market. Other people are doing the same for the various regions of the USA.

I'm not sure if we have had any recent contributions from other areas. Perhaps if you are in the market for an inexpensive but seaworthy boat in decent shape under €25,000 (which is about$30K US, $40K CAD) you can tell us what you find interesting and we can comment.

Good hunting!

While Craigslist is not as common in the EU, it is there as well as similar National sites.

Here's a 9 mete / 27 footer in Italy for E5,000

Thank you for the link. I been surfing around websites and never saw this one.

I'm more on a search of a 30 footer.
May I ask how did you search on Craigslist without selecting a specific location?

Good hunting!
Sue W.
I'm looking for a 30 foot boat with 2 cabins if possible.
If possible some fiberglass or iron. And sloop or ketch are the options I have preferred.
I can put hands on the boat on electricity, plumbing, mechanics, etc
No experience with fiberglass repairs (for now)

If possible that the boat can sail and put some work on it on winter or even over it.

Thanks in advance for any post or tips on searching on the old continent!!

The right-most edge of the CL home screen has "cl worldwide" and clicking it lists countries CL operates in. Other countries have similar sales sites, like adoos in the UK.
