Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Albin Vega 27 "Tarka" (formerly "Tarka the Otter") just popped up for sale. The owner blogs/youtubes, so lots of info to be had.
Currently in Panama, asking $10K.

Ahh, okay, sorry! I was looking at this via mobile and I didn't see the link.
I wonder how much to have it delivered to Philadelphia.

Well, you could ask the current owners if they will do a delivery post purchase for you.

Eh, its my boat, thanks- hope this is CF legal posting my boat on this thread. Hate to sell her, but life situation and not using her much makes selling best decision. Might want to buy her back from new owner in 10 years if things work out that way. Sail boat market in Hawaii is dead- not sure why. This is a solid boat and could be taken around the world today. If desired, a few cosmetic projects would make her look great. But the blood, sweat, and tear work has been done- by me. This boat is more capable than many larger boats- and cheaper to keep and maintain.

Copy all that info on Craigslist and make a new listing in the classifieds here without link to craigslist. Include photos of the boat itself and just make sure sister ships are so marked. If anyone in Hawaii knows sailing and boats they’ll be in touch I bet. I’d almost move to Hawaii for your boat!! How is it to get a slip or mooring in HI? Best of luck, sorry you have to let her go!
It’s a sad state of affairs when the sailboat market goes dead in HAWAII!

There are two types of slips available in Hawaii. A private mooring (expensive) or at a State of Hawaii Boat Harbor (about 1/2 the monthly fee of a private marina). The private moorings are more readily available, although for the lower cost private moorings, still could be a wait list. For the state owned harbors, the mooring for large boats could be 10 years. I waited about 5 years for my mooring. State moorings for boats less than 36 feet may have a much shorter wait list- note your boat length includes the maximum length including bow pulpit, and wind vane if mounted. Once you no longer own a boat, you loose your State of Hawaii mooring. Even if you pay you slip fee, if there is no boat in the slip, State of Hawaii will cancel your mooring permit. Should add, your state of Hawaii mooring can only transfer to your spouse- after you die....
