Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Here's a new take on an old classic, the Herreshoff Meadowlark. Other than Monroe's Egret this is probably the most iconic extreme shoal draft cruiser there is. This is a fiberglass version which is rare.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Another Canadian boat, this time in Windsor, across the river from Detroit.
1988 Compac 27/2 for about $20K USD ($27500 Canadian).

I like these boats - they are unpretentious pocket cruisers; shoal draft, trailer included (needs work), but the boat looks to be in nice condition with some decent gear. The boat is still in production.
This might suit a single-hander or a part-time cruising couple. Not a blue water boat, imo.

What makes this one noteworthy?
Take a look at the design. It is unusual (center cockpit, forward helm).
Take a look at the Layout. Also unusual with the aft area of the boat being the "salon" and it has large portlights on the sides and stern.
Take a look at the equipment list. Notice that it has the following items that are usually costly add ons including the electric motor:
1. Max prop
2. Electric Motor
3. Inflatable Dinghy with Outboard
4. Nature's Head Composting Head
The boat looks surprisingly clean in the photos. That is always a good sign. I get the impression this boat has been well cared for by the owner, and it appears the owner has been updating it.

Scout 30, yes, it has sitka spruce masts, they have been painted. Look to be strong and acts well under sail.
