Is it an allied sea swirl are they an ok boat?

Harbor master says it’s a 1980 allied sea wind 2 any owners of said boat some reviews be nice. I’m away and it turned up near my house for sale thanks again.

From those two images it seems to match Allied Seawind Mk2 so your harbor master was probably right. Captain Q has done video about that model (and actually even sailed it this time), so it might be helpful:

Hull #122 “day break” they seem to have a good reputation except the hull to deck joint issues even addressed in the first two issues of the owners group newsletters from 1979. I’m skeptical of the cored portions and bet rocks like hell on the hook. Any advice be greatly appreciated on things to look at new to sailing but have some experience with boats.

It's as good a boat for the size as you're likely to find. Many Mark I models circumnavigated and are still floating around. I'd sail one pretty much anywhere.
You'll want to closely inspect and perhaps upgrade the rig, starting with the chainplates and their attachments and going up from there.

I believe the best practices for the hull-to-deck joint call for 5200 rather than fiberglass between the hull and the deck, to allow enough movement that the bolts can take the load.

I agree with you I think materials have improved since the xerox club letter. it seems like a neat boat. It’s berthed in Seward Ak. Story goes he inherited it and now there it sits been sitting awhile I believe. Heard he was a older gentleman and boats been towed a few times from friends fishing out of Seward. Maybe someone knows more but I’ll be seeing it soon. I have my doubts landing a bill fish in the tiny cockpit with the mizzen over head lol. I have read the pitfalls skulking about this forum to know a cruiser budget can be tanked quickly so cheap boat might get me more NM than my dream pilothouse watson Colvic operating and cruising are wildly different. Knowing full and well we might sail into farro cement boats and have to face a learning curve of forcing kids off the boat by gun point keeping there iPads uninsured. We went from being a ships engineer degenerate on crab boats and better half upstanding charter fisherwoman to sitting in little club boats with my ass wet. We worked our way up to sailing a Formosa been a learning curve to say the least. Thanks for the responses maybe some one else might offer some model specific advice on surveying a allied seawind wind 2.

I replied to your PM, the hull to deck joint is another thing to check, but if it’s already been worked on, it’s likely good. They’re tough.

At anchor it’s surprisingly not rolly, it will hobby horse though if not loaded correctly. We carried 225’ of 5/16” chain and were able to keep up with much larger boats. I personally think it likes weight forward.
