I think we should let this dead horse rest a while. You can search previous threads for everyone's thought, no two of which agree.

A fast sailing catamaran. The sailings fine, it's the getting to out of the way places safely and reasonably quickly that makes cruising great and reduces the risks of foul weather, running out of water; or fuel.

Re: Bluewater Boats (Opinions)

There is no such thing as the "perfect" boat. There are just different sorts of trade-offs. Only you can decide what is the perfect boat for you.

And without some details about how you intend to use the boat, where you plan to go, how long you plan to stay, how you plan to live, and so on, any answer you get will only express the particular prejudices of the particular answerer.

You really do need to spend a lot of time searching and reading and thinking about what you truly want to do, so that you can get WAAAAAY more specific in your questions, before anyone can give you anything like a useful answer.

Good luck.

The perfect blue water boat.....maybe one of those New multi level cruise ships where everything is paid, and all you have to do is set in a comfortable deck chair, sucking on a cold drink, smelling the salt air, watching the waves pass by and listning to Jimmy Buffet on your stero head set...

Any one that pulls into the port after the trip in the same condition and with everyone that started the trip still on it. In other words any boat that was sailed by someone smart enough to plan their trip properly and not head out in questionable conditions.

My perfect bluewater boat would be a nice fast 50+ catamaran
