Best Offshore Cruiser

I am looking at an Island Packet 31 and a Dana 24? Which is the best sailboat for offshore work in the Pacific Ocean?
Thank you

I would opt for the IP31 merely for the extra tankage and storage capability..

+1, as well as the extra waterline length.

Although if you’re comparing two specific examples, of those two the one in better condition would win.

31 and 24 is a big difference, I wonder how it came down to those two? In any case the Dana is a good little boat, and can certainly go places, but the IP31 is the better choice assuming both are in good shape.

The OP's in San Francisco area. I think the IP'd be better, too; the conditions in the bay are brisk when the sea breezes blow (almost every afternoon from May through Nov)...'course, it is off the wind on the way back to where one keeps the boat.
